If you can’t make it up north, then here is your last choice of the season and it’s in the south. So, what’re you waiting for? Don your cycling outfit, pull out your bike, pump your tyres and get on the road.

The Wiggle Kent Classic Sportive is a cycling event which we know you’ll enjoy. There won’t be too many members of the Birmingham Cycling Club here, but you should certainly be there if you can make it and send us your pictures when possible too!

You have just 21 days to sign up for this event – so get your credit card out and head over to the UK Cycling Events page – yet again. We’re regular members to this website.

So, onto the details: the event will take place on Saturday 11th November 2017. Wondering where it’ll be happening? The exact address is Lingfield Racecourse, Lingfield Park, Racecourse Road, Lingfield, RH7 6PQ. We expect to see you there! We’ll be there early with our lycra and helmets, of course. The event opens at 7:20am – are you a morning bird? You better get training if not. The discipline for this event is road, so make sure it’s right for you and then pick your option below.

There are two choices: Epic and Standard. However, if you can’t manage those two, then why not try out the Short or Under 16s? (Of course, depending on your age, we all wish we could be 16 again!)

The Epic option includes 79 miles and 5462 ft. It will cost you just £35 on the Cycling UK Events page. However, if you buy on the day then you can expect to spend £5 more as usual. Choose this option if you’ve been training hard for the season as the conditions may be less than desirable and it’s never a wise choice to up your game in the winter months.

Otherwise, choose the Standard option – which many of the Birmingham Cycling Club will be choosing. For this, you’ll need to pay the same price at £35. However, 50 miles and 3661 ft may be easier for you! Take this into consideration.

Finally, choose the Short option if you’re wanting to join in but stress less about the distance. You’ll find that this is 28 miles and 1919 ft. However, the price is also a lot shorter than the full distance options too at just £26. But, on the day, you can expect to pay £31 – we often choose this option if we’re unsure whether we’ll make it. However, if you can be sure then why risk not being able to get on the course on that day?

The under 16s is exactly what it says on the tin. However, this will cost you nothing! So, why not encourage your kids to be healthy and enjoy cycling as much as you do? All you need is to invest in a bike and your child could have a healthy hobby or passion for life. What’s stopping you?

At the event, you’ll find mechanics, medical teams and photographers. Your money also pays for parking, food and drinks – this includes on-site catering. After the event, you’ll receive a certificate and rider liability insurance as well as a bike wash after the event has taken place! What’re you waiting for! Book your ticket and we look forward to seeing you in Kent in the cold winter months.

If you don’t want to spend your week sitting on your bum while playing the Leprechaun Goes to Hell Slot game, then why not start training and book your online tickets for the Wiggle Devils Punch Sportive. Both have rather ridiculous names, so what’s stopping you?

This event with take place at the beginning of next month, so get a wriggle on and start your training as soon as possible. In fact, the actual date is: Saturday 4th November 2017.

What’s so special about the Wiggle Devils Punch Sportive? Well, you’ll be able to choose from a range of different courses. The longest option is 78 miles and 4744 ft. However, this will cost you just £30 to choose from – that is if you buy it from the UK Cycling Events website which we certainly recommend that you do!

The next option, after the Epic choice, is the Standard option. Many of those from the Birmingham Cycling Club will be going for this option as it is more accessible for those who aren’t able to cycle everywhere or train every day! This option is the same price, however, the course is slightly different and is 54 miles and 3287 ft. The price of just £30 is certainly a great offer, however, so make sure you snap it up on the Cycling Events site!

For those who are worried that the Standard option is too long, go for the short option instead. For this, you’ll be riding 28 miles and 1535 ft. However, it is £4 cheaper than the other options – so it might be worth opting for. You’ll also receive a medal for finishing, so make sure you choose a route which you can definitely finish!

For this cycle route, you’ll be following the North Downs. This is a very beautiful route and you’ll be able to see the Devil’s Punch Bowl on your route too. However, don’t participate if you can’t handle the hills and the bumpy ride in Surrey and Hampshire.

If any Birmingham locals are going to be at this event, then please get in touch! We would love to hear from  you as the Birmingham Cycling Club will be riding together. You’ll be able to warm up with us to make sure we’re all ready for the long ride and then we’ll face the route! The route is mainly downhill before we reach any peaks, but don’t worry, there are lots of places in which you can stop for a cuppa and something to eat! Cycling together is certainly one of the main reasons for joining up with a cycling club – you’ll never be bored with other cyclists at your side.

However, do bear in mind that this route is shorter than many of the others which you might have undertaken over the past few weeks. This is, of course, due to the season, but if you have one more ride in you then make the most of it as it could be the last great ride in good weather for some time!

There will be both a medical and mechanical team on site so you shouldn’t worry about packing your own kit – although we always recommend being prepared. You may also want to make sure you have your tyres pumped and the right gear ready! After the event you will receive both a medical but also an online certificate so you can remember the event for years to come!

The event will be held at: Dunsfold Aerodrome, Stovolds Hill, Cranleigh, Surrey, GU6 8TB Head over to the UK Cycling Events page now to buy your ticket.

If you’re not able to make it to Scotland for the 5th November event, then why not check out the Nottinghamshire Wheeler Sportive which is a little closer to home? This event is taking place on Sunday 5th November 2017 and you’ll locate it at: Southwell Racecourse, Rolleston, Near Newark Nottingham, NG25 0TS. All you need to do is head over to the UK Cycling Events page, as always, to book tickets and your place. What are you waiting for?

As always, you can choose from the Epic, Standard or under 16 option. The Epic option is a course which takes place over 77 miles and 2828 ft. It is just £35 to buy in advance from the UK Cycling Events page. However, if you turn up late, the you’ll find you have to pay £5 more – so £40. If you book in advance, you can also guarantee your place! We look forward to seeing you there, so sign up now.

The second, Standard option, is 45 miles and 1591 ft. This option is the same price as the Epic choice, so you could go the extra miles for the same amount of money. But, remember to only choose an option which suits you, otherwise you could find that you need a few days of bed rest afterwards! Again, you spend £35 booking in advance or £40 on the day. Make your decision wisely!

This course starts at the Southwell Racecourse. From here, you’ll be able to take in the beautiful English countryside on this trail. If you haven’t visited Nottinghamshire before, now is a great time to visit and what better way to see a lot of the countryside than a beautiful cycle with friends?

Join us here, or in Glasgow, on this date and you’ll be able to spend your day cycling, making new friends and enjoying food and drink after completing the route. You’ll also receive a finishing gift and a medal too. As well as this, you’ll be able to find professional photos online to enjoy and send to your friends and family after you’ve completed the event.

If you’re worried about your health, then fear no more as there will be a medical team on site. But, make sure to choose the right course for you so you don’t regret it afterwards. There is also a mechanical team for you to speak to if something goes wrong with your bike. Better yet, there are “feed” stops along the way for you to eat at where you’ll be able to chat to your new friends!

Remember that the venue opens at 7:15am. Better to be early than to be too late! If you haven’t bought your ticket, then you need to make sure you’re available for the registration between 7:30am – 9:15am.

The cycle starts at 8am and will end at 3.30pm. What time can you make it in? Let us know and send us your pictures of the event if you don’t manage to catch up with the Birmingham cycling club. We’re looking forward to filling up the site with some of our favourite cycling events from the year and we need you to help us by sending in your images. Have any pics of your favourite bike, yourself and mates in your cycling gear enjoying a cuppa? We want them on this site to help encourage others.

Are you hoping to head North for your cycling adventures? With the Galloway Gallop Adventure, you get to see the beautiful country of Scotland and spend time with others in the Birmingham Cycling Club who are also heading up north.

This adventure is taking place at the beginning of next month on Sunday 5th November 2017. You’ll need to get booking your tickets if you’re hoping to sign up and ride! The address of this event is: Kirroughtree MTB Centre, Galloway Forest Park, Dumfries, Scotland, DG8 7BE. We recommend you buy your tickets from the UK Cycling Events page, as always! However, you only have two weeks to book your tickets otherwise you’ll find that you have to pay larger prices on the day than necessary!

So, what should you expect and what will your money buy? Yet again, the prices are under £40. In fact, for the Massif option, you’ll spend £35 and be able to ride the 69 miles and 4858 ft. However, if you choose to buy the entrance on the day then you’ll be looking at the price of £40, instead of £35!

In fact, this event was RESCHEDULED. So, if you’re wondering what happened to the Galloway Gallop route – is is now taking place at the beginning of November. Can you attend? We sure hope to see lots of Brummie faces shining back at us when we mount our bikes for the ride!

If you fancy a slightly easier route than the Massif – check out the Mini Massif. This option will allow you to cycle just 52 miles and 3727 ft. However, you’ll make some savings too as it’ll only cost £26 on the UK Cycling Events page. But, if you buy on the day, you can expect to start paying £31 which isn’t too much of an increase but if you can guarantee you’re going then why not cash in and spend that extra money on a few pints?

If you had already entered the event, then don’t worry – you have already been transferred to the new date so there is no need for you to sign up for a second time. However, you aren’t able to join this ride, then why not sign up for one of the other events in 2017? There is a huge amount for you to choose from.

However, this time of the year offers just a few problems when it comes to the amount of daylight cyclists can get. So, this route may be changed, but you’ll be warned with plenty of time. Just make sure to follow the signs on the day and you should have absolutely no problems with keeping up and make sure you don’t get lost in the process.

What can you expect on this route, you may be wondering. Well, the Galloway Forest Park is a particularly beautiful place to enjoy a cycle around, especially as the season winds down and routes are becoming shorter due to reduced daylight. You’ll find that this route is mainly in the forest and along windy forest roads, however, there will be a large difference in surfaces throughout your ride to bear in mind.

But, don’t worry – there is always a medical and mechanical team on site. So, if you find yourself in need of a little help, they won’t be too far away.

Are you looking for a cycling event to take part in which is coming up as soon as possible? Then, make sure you sign up for the Wiggle Forest Ranger Sportive. You’ll be able to take part in this on Sunday 22nd October 2017- so sign up as soon as possible as the event is very soon!

Right now, the Epic option is 83 miles and 3562 ft. This is for the incredible price of just £30 and takes place at the Uttoxeter Racecourse. The full address is Wood Lane, Uttoxeter, Staffordshire, ST14 8BD.

The second option is 64 miles and 2762 ft. The price of this is also the same as the Epic option at just £30. Which would you choose? Are you up for the challenge of the Epic? If not, the standard is a great way to make sure you push yourself, without the added discomfort of the Epic and better yet, it’s the same price! So you can really make the best choice for yourself.

Not up for that? Why not choose the Short option of 44 miles and 2244 ft. This is only £4 cheaper at £26. However, you can save yourself some money as on the day, you’ll expect to pay £31 – why not book now and make sure you’re at the event? Cycling is a great way to improve your fitness and this can challenge you, without being as strenuous as the Epic or Standard options. However, it’s still a great Sunday day out!

Finally, the last pricing option is for under 16s. Are you taking the kids for a day out? If so, choose this option. It’s the only free choice and it’s a great way to get your kids cycling with you! What better way to encourage them to cycle and be sporty while they’re young?

On this ride, you’ll be able to admire the rolling British countryside and certainly won’t miss out on the stunning, scenic cycle no matter which of the rides you choose to take. Cycling through East Staffordshire and Leicestershire with your friends is a great way to spend a Sunday – can you think of anything better?

There are also many facilities available for you, so as soon as you’re finished, you can grab yourself a cup of tea, or something stronger, and chat to those of the Birmingham Cycling Club and many other British cycling clubs in the area.

However, depending on which route you have chosen, make sure you closely follow the signs so you do not get lost. While cycling with others, you could very easily find yourself on the wrong path – if you’re in the short distance group, you certainly don’t want to accidentally be pulled along with the Epic riders! Unless you feel like you could handle the speed. A good idea is to head over to the website first to find out about the ride before it happens, this way you can attempt to remember some of your route and make sure you stay on the right path.

The Wiggle Forest Ranger Sportive is the best way to cycle and explore the National Forest, we’re certainly looking forward to the challenge – are you coming along too?

If you’re worried about getting hurt – there is a medical team on hand. As well as this there are also mechanics who are able to help you out too. So don’t worry and get booking your tickets now. Head over to the website.
